Review contract details. If the contract involves access to Penn data, contact your IT support staff or Purchasing Services for review and approval.
Understand Penn’s Data Risk Classification. If the contract will involve access to data classified as:
- High - talk to Purchasing Services, Penn Privacy or Office of Information Security.
- Moderate or low - work with your IT support staff to use tools like V-STAR to help assess the risk.
Seek contract execution guidance from your IT support staff or Purchasing Services before you proceed. Only certain individuals are authorized entities to sign contracts on behalf of Penn.
