ISC is performing expedited fiber cable maintenance starting on Friday, May 22, from 7:00 PM until 7:00 AM on Saturday, May 23.
This past weekend, a vehicle accident caused fiber cable damage near the Pennovation Data Center. Data Center clients and some ISC services experienced a period of a loss of redundancy and reduced bandwidth. ISC made temporary repairs on Saturday, May 16, to stabilize the cable and to protect it from further damage. However, these repairs are unlikely to prevent an uncontrolled outage if left in place for any length of time.
To fully restore the redundancy, this maintenance must be performed on an expedited basis. We identified Friday evening/night for this work due to logistics, availability of resources, and urgency.
Data Center clients and services that have not opted into a redundant fiber path may experience downtime during this maintenance window. Clients and services that have opted for redundant fiber paths should not experience any service interruptions.
