Planned: KITE domain changing network time protocol (NTP) server on October 24, 2018

Change date: Wednesday, October 24th
Change time: 7:00am – 7:30 am

The NTP (network time protocol) server for KITE is going to switch from domain controller KITE-DC04 to KITE-DC03. The domain NTP server is the network time authority for KITE-joined servers and workstations. KITE-DC03 uses Penn's timeservers (timeserver1.upenn.edu, timeserver2.upenn.edu, timeserver3.upenn.edu) as its authoritative time source.
The end result of this change will be all KITE-joined servers and workstation clocks will be synchronized with Penn's time servers.

Some KITE-joined servers and workstations will see a jump forward of about one minute. We do not anticipate any user impact as a result of this change.
