ISC is deploying a new network access control (ClearPass) for the AirPennNet wireless network beginning on Monday, July 15 through Thursday, July 18.
We do not expect any service disruptions from July 15 through July 17. However, on July 18 between 5:00 AM and 8:00 AM, there will be a series of brief outages on all campus wireless networks.
This change provides significantly improved support for consumer devices, which are typically designed for home networks. ClearPass, combined with AirGroup, will allow AirPennNet connected devices to discover, pair, and stream content with devices connected to AirPennNet-Device.
ClearPass will initially limit device pairing to devices registered with the same PennKey. Future enhancements will allow shared devices with multiple users.
To support a more comprehensive array of devices, AirPennNet will be renumbered to use RFC 1918 addressing and use 10.100.0.0/14 IP addresses. Please update any IP address-based policies that you have for current AirPennNet IP addressing.
