Planned: Workaround for KITE for SMBv3 remote code execution vulnerability on March 12, 2020

Date:     March 12, 2020
Time:     4:00 PM
Duration: 2 hours

On Tuesday, Microsoft issued a security advisory about an SMBv3 remote code execution vulnerability. As there is no currently available patch, Microsoft recommends disabling compression on SMBv3.

ISC will be deploying that workaround to all servers and workstations in KITE on March 12, 2020 at 4:00 PM.

It is unlikely but possible that disabling compression will cause some performance slowness for SMBv3 clients working with large data sets on fire shares.
