Digital Transformation (DX) refers to the process and strategies by which companies are increasingly leveraging data and technology to achieve their business goals and provide a seamless, personalized customer experience. While there are a number of technologies (e.g., cloud and mobile computing, social networks, data analytics, machine learning, AI) that are essential to the success of DX initiatives, DX is not considered to be an Information Technology effort. Rather, DX is seen as an evolution of the entire business, a response to changing customer and leadership expectations.
The business of higher education continues to evolve in an increasingly competitive marketplace. We are leveraging data and technology to improve organizational objectives, meet individual needs and interests, and enhance financial sustainability and operational excellence.
A proactive examination of DX helps better position Penn and our peers for future success. Our “Digital Ambitions” – however they are defined – will only be successful if they are in alignment with the support and resources available at Penn.
