TypeScript is a superset of Javascript that compiles down to pure Javascript, suitable for Node or any browser that can run Javascript. In the past year and a half it has become a mainstream language.
It provides many of the object-oriented capabilities of Java or C#, and a number that they don’t have, while making it easy for newcomers to ease in to using it.
We will look at code, starting with the simplest features, and work our way up to some fairly advanced, powerful capabilities.
Lastly, we’ll provide examples of exactly how TypeScript translates into Javascript, and some of the day-to-day tools you’ll need to use it.
