The goal of DATAVIZ-SIG is to bring together users and lovers of data visualization across the University s schools, centers, and hospitals. This is a group for everyone from those actively using data visualization in their day-to-day tasks, to people who are just interested in making more effective presentations.
Our kickoff meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 2nd from 12:00-1:00pm in Vance B6 (basement level), and will be in a lightning talk style, where presenters from Development & Alumni Relations, WRDS, Wharton External Affairs and ISC will share how data visualization is being used within each department. Light refreshments will be provided!
Subject to your input, DATAVIZ-SIG hopes to focus on:
- collaboration around how data visualization is/can be utilized across Penn
- workshops presenting different tools and methodologies for visualization
- applications of data storytelling
We re excited to get this group off the ground! If you re interested in participating, or have suggestions/feedback, please contact the co-leads: Amy Miller (milleraa@isc.upenn.edu) or Melissa Hartz (melissah@wharton.upenn.edu).
Vance Hall is located at 3733 Spruce Street. The meeting will be held in one of the classrooms in the basement level of the building.
