Overview
An offering of ISC’s Access Management Services, PennPath provides an authentication credential that can integrate with applications like learning management systems, customer relationship management (CRM) tools (e.g., Salesforce), and class registration apps (e.g., Learning Stream).
PennPath is for Schools and Centers that have users outside of Penn who need access to University resources, but neither need nor want all the access privileges and security requirements associated with a PennKey.
With PennPath you can:
- Easily invite users outside of Penn to sign up/sign in to your resources without needing a PennKey
- Save the cost and burden of developing your own authentication system and benefit from streamlined account administration
- Simplify your external users’ experiences with single sign-on to all PennPath-integrated University resources

- PennPath is for organizations with external populations who need access to Penn resources, like online learners, research collaborators, business partners, and other external affiliates.
- Penn students, staff, and faculty will continue to use PennKey to access University resources.
- For an application used by both internal and external populations, we can offer a sign-in screen with multiple authentication options to accommodate both PennKey and PennPath users.
