Reconnecting to AirPennNet

Due to network security upgrades, you may need to take a few simple steps to reconnect your laptop and devices to AirPennNet when you first return to campus.  


Quick start instructions
 

  1. Test to see if you can connect to AirPennNet. If you can, everything is fine and you can stop here!
    1. Open your wireless settings and select the “AirPennNet” network.
    2.  Follow the prompts to connect.
  2. If you’re unable to connect directly to AirPennNet, you may need to run the “Connect to AirPennNet” wizard
  3. Open your wireless settings and select to the network called “Connect to AirPennNet”  
    1.  Open a web browser and navigate to: http://www.upenn.edu
    2. Click on the “JoinNow" button and follow the onscreen instructions to connect to AirPennNet. You’ll be prompted to enter your PennKey and password.

If you still can’t connect to AirPennNet

If you still can’t connect to AirPennNet, you may to reconfigure the AirPennNet settings on your laptop or device.  This requires that you have administrative access to your device.

For laptops and devices owned and managed by Penn, you may not have administrative access. Please talk to your IT support provider for instructions on what to do.

For personal laptops and devices, and any other devices where you have administrative access, you can complete reconfiguration by removing your existing AirPennNet settings and reconnecting using the “Connect to AirPennNet" wizard.

  1. Review and complete the steps outlined in our detailed guide to Removing AirPennNet Settings from a device.
  2. Open your wireless settings and select network called “Connect to AirPennNet.”  
  3. Open a web browser and navigate to: http://www.upenn.edu.  
  4. Click on the “JoinNow" button and follow the onscreen instructions to connect to AirPennNet. You’ll be prompted to enter your PennKey and password.
