Planned: Upcoming PennO365 shared mailboxes changes on April 24 through April 25, 2018

From Tuesday, April 24 at 4:00 pm through Wednesday, April 25 at 4:00 pm, ISC will be implementing a change that will alter how PennO365 handles email sent by delegates on behalf of shared mailboxes. This change will be applied to all existing shared mailboxes and will be the default configuration for a new shared mailbox. Existing shared mailboxes will remain functional while the change is being made.

Currently, when a delegate sends an email on behalf of a shared mailbox, the copy of the sent email is saved in the Sent folder of delegate’s personal PennO365 account.  Other delegates with access to the shared mailbox cannot view this message and the shared mailbox itself does not have a record of an email sent by the delegate(s).  Following the change, when a delegate sends email on behalf of the shared mailbox, the copy of the sent message will be saved the shared mailbox’s Sent folder.  This will enable the sent email to be viewable by anyone who has access to the shared mailbox and allow the shared mailbox’s Sent folder to function as an archive of sent mail.

ISC is making this change following feedback from our clients.  After review, ISC agreed that the change is logical and would be preferred by PennO365 end users.
