On November 29, 2017, Apple has released Security Update 2017-001 https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208315 to address the unauthenticated root access issue announced on November 28, 2017. ISC STRONGLY encourages that all users running macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 apply this patch immediately to resolve this issue.
To apply the update, click the Apple logo in the top left menu bar and select App Store…, click the Updates icon at the top of the window, and then click Update next to the Security Update 2017-001 listing (or click Update All to install all software updates).
