Introducing Developer SIG

| 2:00pm to 3:00pm Bits & Pieces, Room 306 Sansom Place West

The goal of the new Developer SIG is to improve IT cooperation, interoperability and technology across Penn's schools, centers and hospitals.

The first meeting will be held on March 14th from 2-3 in the Bits and Pieces room. The format will be a little different than other special interest groups, emphasizing hands-on evaluation, demos, and contributions from participants for a more developer-oriented, agile approach. Subject to your input, current planning is to focus on:

  • Centralizing common APIs, libraries, and coding practices across Penn
  • Presentations of tools, languages, frameworks, and methodologies being used at Penn
  • Evaluations new technologies and tools

The Developer SIG will facilitate discussions in meetings as well as on Slack (https://upenn-dev-sig.slack.com/), and code contributions will be maintained in our Gitlab repository: https://gitlab.com/groups/upenn-dev-sig. We will do our best to answer your questions or open up discussions with people who can.

If you're interested in participating, or have any ideas or questions, please contact the co-leads: Clay Wells (clayw@sas.upenn.edu) and Matt Schleindl (schleind@upenn.edu).

The listserv is dev-sig@lists.upenn.edu.
