University Desktop Recommendations—Process and Products

| 1:30pm to 2:45pm Hybrid, Meyerson Conference Center (Van Pelt) and Microsoft Teams

The University’s desktop recommendations process has existed for three decades, but this year it comes squarely in a time of unusual change for client computing.

In this presentation, John Mulhern III will discuss a little of the history and some of the present process. He’ll preview the FY2025 Desktop Recommendations, which are currently in late draft form. Finally, he’ll discuss the current Notebook Purchasing Guide and the overall state of mobile computing in early 2024, including the potential impact of neural processing units (NPUs).

Scheduled for Wednesday, April 17th, from 1:30 PM through 2:45 PM, this presentation will be a hybrid offering, available in-person at the Meyerson Conference Center (Van Pelt) and online via Microsoft Teams.
