Planned: Action needed: upgrade desktop MobileConnect before Vonage maintenance on Tuesday, January 12, 2021

Vonage, the cloud provider that powers PennFlex Phone, regularly updates their hardware and software infrastructure in order to offer their highest levels of service. Occasionally, this results in mandatory client-side upgrades to maintain functionality.

On Tuesday, January 12, 2021, Vonage will be performing one such maintenance update. After this maintenance event, clients will need the latest version, or Generally Available (GA) version, of the MobileConnect for Vonage Enterprise for Desktop client in order to place and receive calls on their computer.  

While users running older versions of the desktop MobileConnect app will be forced to upgrade after January 12th, we encourage users to pre-emptively upgrade their desktop MobileConnect app to v22.7.5.159 for Windows or v22.7.16.15 for macOS before the January 12th maintenance.  

Please check with your IT support staff, as they may have pushed out an automatic update if they manage your workstation. Users of macOS may find it helpful to follow these upgrade instructions for the macOS desktop MobileConnect app. Note that you will need administrative privileges on your desktop to make changes.
