Supported Product
Microsoft released Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 SP1 on November 7th, 2013.
Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 SP1 is similar in rendering, interface, and compatibility to the version of Internet Explorer 11 that released with Windows 8.1 on October 18th, 2013, but does not share the same codebase.
Information Systems & Computing (ISC) strongly suggests that support providers block the Automatic Update of Internet Explorer 11 if they have clients using BEN Financials, Oracle EPM/Hyperion, OASIS, Business Objects/Webi, or Health System applications. Instructions and the blocking tool can be found here.
Support providers who do not run these specific applications also may wish to use this tool to prevent the Automatic Update to Internet Explorer 11, at least until specific applications used in their Schools, Centers, or departments are validated.
Important note: For more information on the specific desktop environment requirements for systems such as BEN Financials, the University's budget planning applications (Oracle EPM/Hyperion), and Webi/Business Objects, please see the Desktop Requirements for Administrative Systems Users article.
