Vonage, our cloud service provider of PennFlex Phone, has released new versions of the MobileConnect app for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. This version includes a security certificate update.
The BigFix fixlet has been updated and is available. If you have a University-managed computer, you will need to restart your computer after your Local Support Provider pushes the update to your computer. If you do not use a University-managed computer, you will need to download and install the update yourself. Please continue reading for more details.
What is changing?
The SSL cert has been updated.
What is the impact?
This is a required update as you may not be signed on and be able to place or answer phone calls using the desktop MobileConnect app until the update has been applied and after you sign back into the app. Other functionality, including call forwarding and voicemail, is not affected.
What do I need to do?
If you have a University-managed computer, at any time after your Local Support Provider pushes the new version to your machine, you will need to restart your computer to install the software update and sign back into the desktop version of MobileConnect app.
If you use the MobileConnect app on a device that is NOT managed by the University, you will need to download and install the newest version of MobileConnect from Vonage.

Important note: You must download and install the latest version of MobileConnect by April 22, 2022. If you do not, your MobileConnect app will not work!
